How to Generate Leads to Your Trucking Business Using Facebook Groups

A truck sleeper, also called a sleeper cab, is a compartment attached to the truck cabin which is used for rest or sleeping during long-haul drives.

For a long time, the standard semi-truck sleeper only consisted of a twin bed and a cup holder. But, over the years, several companies have introduced improvements that included upgraded amenities to maximize driver comfort. These included semi truck sleeper toilet and other features like TVs, microwaves, and mini-refrigerators, to name a few.

If you are in the trucking sales and rental business and are looking for ways to advertise your modernized semi-truck sleepers, social media is your indispensable tool for communication and growth. In this article, we are focusing on one aspect that surprisingly doesn’t get as much attention as it deserves: Facebook Groups

How to Use Facebook Groups For Your Trucking Business

You would be hard-pressed to find a reason not to use social media. In today’s day and age, it provides an effective channel to:

• connect with other trucking businesses

• recruit truck drivers

• increase brand awareness

• connect with your audience; and

• generate leads

Joining Facebook Groups offer a viable way to generate digital marketing leads. Open to all Facebook users, these Groups are often niche-focused communities. It means you can focus your efforts on engaging users within these communities, which as a result, can significantly increase the opportunities to foster relationships with them that lead to repeat sales.

Interestingly, these benefits are emphasized when you create the Facebook Group yourself. It gives you full control over whom to accept in the Group and in setting the rules and regulations.

Learn further how you can use Facebook Groups for lead generation.

1. Use Onboarding Questions to Gather Information

Facebook has a function that allows Group administrators to ask potential members questions before admitting them to the group. This offers an opportunity to gather lead information for your campaigns. Here, you can ask them to provide their e-mail addresses but, a better way to do this is to give them a value that would require them to give you such information. For example, you can offer them a free trial or a discounted product/service-all they have to do is provide their email address where they want the code sent.

2. Mention Links Where Possible

Groups are a free channel to post links that will direct traffic to your site.

You can include them in your scheduled posts as part of your calls-to-action. For example, if you’re hosting a webinar, you can add a link to the landing page where users can register. The same applies when responding to questions. Just make sure that the link is relevant to the topic or a solution-either a blog post or product/service page-that offers value to your members. Otherwise, it may come across as pushy sales links that turn off your potential customers. Remember, your objective here is to provide free value to the group, not sell to them.

3. Promote Offers in Videos

Live videos are all the rage these days and for good reasons. They receive up to 10x more comments compared to regular videos. What’s better is that it comes at a lower cost compared to producing a pre-recorded video. Here, you can host games, Q&As, and/or take your members on a tour around your facility. By the end of a video, you can also raffle prizes for those who have watched until the end.

While that’s the case, regular videos remain a viable way to promote offers. As you end the video, you can ask those interested to avail your offers. You can also use it as an opportunity to ask viewers to follow you on other social media networks and/or subscribe to your newsletter.

4. Don’t Forget Pinned Posts

Pinning announcements and other important posts is a surefire way to make sure that they reach all your members. You can use this for your job hirings (alongside any trucking software you may have), business announcements, or ongoing promos. You can also send alerts to members whenever you pin a new post.

A pinned post attracts more readers when it’s accompanied by rich content like an image, a video, or a combination of the two. You can also pin a live video for all your online members to see.

Facebook Groups create deeper, more personal engagement by allowing you to provide greater value for your members. This relationship then builds trust and confidence between you and your members, which can then convert them into potential leads

You see, there are far more lead generation techniques within Facebook than using paid ads. Explore these options and identify what works. From there, keep evolving your strategy. There’s so much you can do to increase the quantity and quality of your leads on social media, even when it seems unlikely for a trucking business.
